DNS (Domain Name System) is like a phone book. For example if you go to "http://www.cheatengine.org/" , your computer automatically direct you to your DNS server, Then your DNS server translates http://www.cheatengine.org/ into it's IP address wich is 206.51.226.121 , the port for a DNS server is 53. Phishing will commonly occur if your computer is connected to a hacker's DNS server, the hacker will able to crack your bank account if you do your banking online. For example if the real IP address for the bank's official website is 99.244.135.202, the hacker's DNS server might direct you to a riged wesite that looks exactly the same but it hosted by the hacker, so once you log into your bank account the hacker will know your bank account's username,password and even PIN. So you shold always connect to the DNS server that provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
