It's been happening since a certain restart I did. It's just all black, Far < top to bottom, a black line. 1 inch < to >.
I really need to fix it. Help. Sorry I cant explain more, but it's hard.

What about your monitor's control panel?
I know just about all CRT's have that kind of control, and LCD's usually have auto-adjust settings.

Hmm...I do get these "DUN" sounds when I'm shutting off my computer. Like a program failing. It makes that noise..

Oh, like an error message pop-up noise?
When you shutdown and have an application open during the process, it sometimes does that. (sort of like an error)

Hehe. This xp is so messed up. I can't even windows update or screen goes beserk and blurs forever. I have no SP1 dled, since I think it bugs my pc. Only 2.

Well, SP2 is basically SP1+2... SP3 is in beta still I think, but it's pretty stable.

SP3 is stable.
Oh, and as madman said, the 'dun' noises are probably because you have some programs running as you shut down. It shouldn't cause any major problems, although if you are really unlucky it can mess you program upslightly...

always happens to me, i get this error message:
Unable to run drrwin.exe because the windows operating system is being shutdown
or something in the lines of that, not that i care though
