I have two computers right, so im using my dsl modem thingy whatever and using the usb cable(blue cable) to plug into the other computer, but it shows the connection and says it's connected, but then it shows another connection(most likely old), and it says it's not plugged in, some shit, i'll take a screen shot and upload it. PS: My dad's friend gave it to him btw, it's pretty good, it's an HP. And on the modem the USB light isn't on, I don't know why.

I can't really understand you.. But from what I interpret you are trying to run internet from 1 modem to 2 computers?
Try to explain more.

Yes, that is definitely your best bet. Mines cost $40 dollars and it is working great. Remember, cheaper doesn't always mean worse. Here is a good one from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833181219

i switched off the router, then waited 5 mins & switched it back on, worked for me Razz
