After resetting their settings, reinstalling them, and even reformatting the problem is always there. What could be wrong?

A. I don't like Mozilla. (I have to use it anyway... Neutral) A lot of things require Internet Explorer, I'm not looking for a new browser.
B. I already now about VLC media player, it doesn't play music, and I already know I can use something else.

Have you tried a different copy (legally gotten, of course) of Windows? Or perhaps a different version of WMP/IE?

I'm using a Dell computer (reformatting using a OEM disk from Dell), and I'm downloading both IE and WMP through Microsoft's site. I don't know what's wrong.

I'm gonna upload my WMP and IE folder to RapidShare and link you to it. (1 download, I'll rar em into a single folder.) Can try replacing the files inside of Program Files and seeing if it works.

That's not the problem, the file types are associated, WMP just doesn't open even if I open it directly.
