Ok, I have been dealing with this until now, and I just can't take this any more.
In my dorm we have a dorm wide-wireless system set up (by the college) and my roommates can access the wireless decently, I used to be able to, and now I can't.
The really annoying thing is that our entire campus is wireless, and literally everywhere else on the campus I can access the wireless routers just fine.
Now one of my neighbors has a router set up in his room, and he's given me the password to it. When I go to connect to it, I can't.
I don't know what's wrong with my XP. I have all the correct drivers installed (at least they should be because my laptop came with a drivers CD), and before I was using Window's wireless connectivity program, and that started acting up, so I installed the Intel ProSet Wireless. That was working fine for a while, and just recently has crapped out on me.
So does anyone know of any program that I can use to manage my wireless connections?
I have an Built-in IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 4965 802.11 a/g/n in my laptop, and I still have the correct driver for this, so I can completely uninstall the driver and reinstall just the driver and install whatever program would allow me to manage my wireless connections.
I will +rep whoever helps me the most, because I have lost patience with this stupid problem.

Your neighbour might be brodcasting only a B signal. From what you said, yours is A/G/N. That might be why you can't get on his.

He does have a B, but the card has an A on it. And IIRC they are backwards compatible.
My college has wireless G everywhere on campus, and on the floor that I live on, they are testing the Draft-N wireless protocol (which ironically my currently wireless program says its there, but can not receive a signal from a N router, only the G's. They have two set of routers set up on the same SSID [I think thats the right term] so that if you don't have a N card, you can still get on the G.).

They probably have it broadcasting but with no active internet connection attached.
Alright, I'm not too knowledgeable on this deal. Maybe Cheetah or someone else good at this will swing around this way and help you much more than I possibly can.
Sorry.

Well, all of my roommates can access the school's wireless internet on their laptops, and they can also access my neighbor's B wireless router. It's just mine won't.
