My internet speed is really slow its DSL but preforms only a little better than Dial-Up my ISP is Verizon and My friend also has Verizon but his Internet speed is much faster. My modem is about 4 years old and so is my wireless router. I am running via Linksys Wireless and what would be better for me to upgrade. Modem or Router? Which would make my internet speed quicker?

They should provide you with a modem (your isp company)

so get a router if they do.
