Nice new look to the main site DB!
Anyone know how to make a patcher? I've got the address to a static value, but when I insert the value and patch it does nothing.
My full example:
Msn Live has annoying text ads in the bottom, I found that simply removing the main function keyword "adtext" that the ad no longer shows. The address to that value in my version is 0052857F or msnmsgr.exe+12857F
disabling one code disables the text ad, disabling the other stalls MSN.
I go into create a patch. I choose code :7814759c - 8a 26 - mov ah,[esi]
select msnmsgr.exe -> open
It says "select the addresses you want to patch and press ok" all 4 addresses have the number 4 (the bytes around this opcode are not the same) and none of them are 0052857F or 0012857F so I am confused, disabling any of these will have no effect on my target. When I skip and add address manually it either prevents MSN from starting properly or lets it start, but does not remove the text ads.
I have never used the Patch feature so I am uncertain as to how to properly use it, any help or advice would be great! I wish there was a part in the tutorial about this. Thanks!
---Nevermind---
I used a hex editor... but it'd still be nice to learn how to use the patcher ^^
