I have Windows Aids (vista), and for the life of me I cant get MIRC to work on it. Im not sure how old the program is since I got it from a buddy who uses XP. So if there is a simple fix (ie: download a MIRC vista version) please point me int the right direction. If not, lend me a few minutes and some information.

Heres what I tried so far.

I understand the ports must be open for this to run properly, but for some reason Vista's port opening and navigation if retarded. I set ports to open for this and they dont, I set it as an allowed program to go through pre=opened portes, nothing happens. the program runs fine, it just wont connect to the internet. Checked my connections and everything, the only thing I can think of is that it needs a patch to work with vista or I missed something simple and its a critical step.

Lets say you got it to work, vista does not have Mic boost. meaning the other person will not hear you (or barely will with volume up very high).

Very common problem with vista.

Im not worried about mics, this is for peer to peeer downloading. My buddy had about 125 gigs of anime/movies/songs and whatnot. This is a better way to get those and him get mine than Limewire or taking a 4gig SD chip back and forth from my house to his. Its all type based, not voice (as far as I have ever seen).
