Well i have made a previous topic asking how i can burn movies which i have found out!

But now my problem is that when i use my CD-RW which are 700MB the picture and sound is great but when i try to burn movies onto my DVD-R

I only get sound but not pictures.

I am using Ashampoo burning studio 7

PS: Is is normal to take like 3 hours to but burn a 700MB movie?

Lack of sound in my experience is usually a codec error (from when it is encoded????). It should not take anywhere near that time, unless it requires encoding, in which case that is an acceptable time.

Make sure the discs you're burning onto are DVD-ROM disks and not CD-ROM disks.

I would try another software, like
Nero,DVD-Cloner III,
1Click DVD,DVDCLON,
FTDVD Author,ANYDVD.

Also i would use DVDDecrypter, this could be the whole problem.

@Labyrnth, those are mostly junk freeware applications which are nothing but trouble. The only good one amongst those is Nero, which I personally use aswell.

Insert a blank DVD/R, open up Nero (I use Nero 7 Essentials), then just create a new DVD and select the .avi you're trying to burn. Make sure you're burning to D: or w/e DVD drive you use. Should work, if it doesn't you'll most likely have a hardware problem.

Most DVD players can't read .avi, you need to burn it in the proper format.

My pleasure, Nero 8 full

But if u are going to burn an avi file to a dvd, I would use a program called ConvertXvidToDvD, yes it says xvid, but it works for avi to...

then ur avi turns out to a new file which is like 4,1 gig, burn that file... and youll have the video

Actually, it gives you 2 folders, Video_TS and Audio_TS, but the ConverXvidToDVD program burns the file for you when u are done converting it...

why do we have to convert the .avi?

On most programmes i read that it can burn .avi .mp4 and stuff.

You see how u turned out with no pictures right? And yea, ur right, you can burn it, and you did... but ur dvd-player cant take it? cause it is an AVI... Depending on what ur dvd player can read

Try use this tool; http://rapidshare.com/files/72130879/VSO.Software.ConvertXtoDVD.v2.2.3.258h-TE.rar.html

After you have used that, I swear to god you will get the picture there as well as the sound...

Cause once I had the same problem as you, never had it again after I used that program I linked above in this post...
