it has win2000 on it i think (not sure i have to gather wires for it). Im wondering what this would req to upgrade to xp pro. I just wanna know if it needs anything special or just install xp?

it wouldn't do any harm to just "pop the disk in", but if it's a really old computer that's quite slow it might not run too well on xp, but chances are it probably will lol.

Holy crap i cant. The hard disk is only 8 GB. ITS A WINDOWS 98 I WAS LIED TO. So i put in my old xp hdisk(80gb) and now its says failed to load boot image please insert boot disk, or something along them lines. If i make the boot disk for winxp pro and reformate it should work right?

In theory, yes. Be sure to back things up as needed before reformatting.

i have no idea what you just said, but yeah make sure that you have backups of everything you need and a boot disk won't do any harm either.

It turned out to be win 98. Even if it doesnt it will after it gets drivers.
