You must not power off by holding the power button. They say.
I did about 10 times
I only did it though when the shutdown thing crashed. Is that ok or have i screwed my computer?

No, I do it daily and my computer works just as well as when I got it years ago.

If it still works now, you're probably okay. Run a CHKDSK if you want to be sure. But don't shut it down that way unless you absolutely have to, it will corrupt your disk eventually. If data is being written to the disk at the time you shut it down that way, there is likely data in the cache, when it's powered down, the data in the cache is lost, resulting in data loss/corruption.

Yeah, it pretty much resets the computer to how it was before you turned your computer on last, unless you save your work as you go.
Kinda.
Ish.

I think you should go back to random spam...
maybe just think of this: your riding a bike and you suddenly stop instantly, usually you wont fall over, but that one time you do, you get hurt.
