If it's a quality 300w and it's the 8600, it might, it depends on the rest of the system.

 What are you concerned about?

On a side note, I have a mere 288W Power Supply. Yay me.

				| Ok, so I found a bundle on newegg, EVGA 8600GT 256mb with an 850w Power supply for $250. I'm just wondering, how do I install it? _________________

				| all the plugs look pretty distinct, as far as plugs go.
just take a mental note of what looks like it plugs to where when you open it now and just repeat that.

i read on hardocp a while ago about somebody who managed to somehow ram the 20/24 plug in backwards. how this is possible, i have no idea since they usually clip in once you push them in, which you would probably have to break to get it to go in backwards.

basically, it's pretty hard to mess up unless you try to.
