I got it as a free upgrade from a standard 17 inch. I'm wondering if I should be fine with this or buy an LG.

The Samsung is an excellent monitor, probably better than any LG you'd find.

| I have the 206BW, It's really good. I recommend Samsung to LG, because Samsung has been making Displays for a long time, From Cell Phone to Huge LCD HDTV's. I've only started seeing LG these few years, so keeping your monitor is the right choice. It retails for 250+, I got mine for 190 after rebate.
