if i downgrade using xp boot disk will it wipe my hard drive?

I think you mean upgrade, and unfortunately yes it will wipe your drive. But if you have anything important it should already be backed up anyway...

That works too, if you need help on how to configure the old drive so you can copy your data off it onto the new drive just ask Razz
