Cheat Engine isn't a virus. It can't be used to cause damage to a computer. It cannot harm your computer, unless YOU are the one who caused the damage.

Cheat Engine can not damage your hard drive, since it does not contain any code for low level disk access.

It was more likely another program that messed up your harddisk, like gameguard, punkbuster, xtrap, etc...

Also, if you downloaded it from anywhere else besides cheatengine.org, thats your own fault

*sigh* CALM THE F*** DOWN OK(meant for the topic creator, and sorry for having caps lock on there). wow you accuse other ppl just because YOU suddenly got an error with your HD, big fckin mistake mister. -10 rationality points to you. but anyway lets continue, Cheat Engine cant and will never be able to access your HD in that way, even if it did what the heck would it help? cheat engine cant do anything there. so its most likely:
a) maybe a virus(somewhat possible)
b) your own fault(also somewhat possible)
c) a program you have lying on your computer that you didnt ever knew you had.
