So after I run cheatengine.exe, I get these messages:
Quote: | To get more detailed information about processes, like the processname, it's recommended to run the kerneldataretriever program. Do you want to run it?
Yes/No confirmation |
The above comes twice.
Quote: | You are missing a driver. Try reinstalling cheat engine, and try to disable your anti-virus before doing so. |
Quote: | Failed starting the process watcher. |
Then it opens nicely - but basically its pretty obvious the program doesn't work properly
Anyway, hope someone can help me out, I've just been observing/reading tutorials and stuff trying to learn without posting and looking like a leecher or just plain dumb. But I think I've gotten to a point where I have to ask for help and I hope my request for aid is answered.
Thank you!

Wha? That's weird, I don't have the kerneldata.dat file in my source - am I supposed to retrieve this from elsewhere? Apart from that, what driver do you mean? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I just don't see any other way apart from asking kindly.
Thank you in advance (hopefully).

the kerneldata.dat gets created by the kerneldataretriever
that is why it gets started
but since you are also missing the driver it wont funtion properly
which will also cause the processwatcher to fail
