|
|
Ok, I have a problem, I run computers on LAN, and my sister keeps going on www.crunchyroll.com and uploads like 10 movies at once, OMFG, and when I try to play Maplestory, it lags up the internet, especially when Maple gets like the lowest transfer rate, that was when I used the HOST file to block the site.
Now just recently, she found out how to unblock the site with the HOST file, removing the line of that site...now I just played again and I lagged and died 3 times, I really need to know another way to block the site...
Plz Help =[

How do I do that?? |
http://www.google.ca/search?q=block+websites+router
For more detailed instructions, search with the model of your router.

As stated by slovach, make the hosts file read-only.
OR if she is that clever:
Remove her access rights to the file(right click>properties> security tab>remove write/change access for her login name)
You might need to disable simple-file-sharing to see that tab.
Guide found here: http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/winxpnetworking/ht/winxpsfs.htm
It's fairly easy.
If she's clever enough that she can allow herself access again, then.. lol
Otherwise you could explain/teach her not to upload that much at the same time, for your sake. xD

| If she finds out, just make her account a non-administrator one, and then password all other administrator accounts. ;p

o.0 lol, that laptop is hers, but i can go on it, but yesterday she put a password, and theres only 1 acc to login, on that comp....
I think I can bypass the window password by doing this
1) Run Comp in Safe Mode (problem is idk which button to press and how to get the screen of it)
2) You will be on default admin
3) Go to CMD
4) Type Net User
5) Type Net User (name of acc) *
6) Change Password
or I can just create a new account, by doin Net localgroup....
