I just discovered few hours ago Cheat Engine, i have tested without problems but the network don't seem to work...
-I start CE Server on a computer
-I start CE Client on another computer and connect to the 1st one.
-I select a process
-I start the scan and it says "The scan has failed", and in the server computer there's a message like:
Acess violation at adress 00403968 in module 'Cheat Engine Server.exe'.
Read of address FFFFFFFF sometimes it's 00000001 instead of 00403968 and FFFFFFF.
I don't know where the problem come from, i tried without my firewall, same results...
If someone have an idea of the problem, please answer, thanks Very Happy

I havn't looked at the network version for a while, but i'll look into it.

On what OS did you try it. (win 95/98/98se/me/nt/2000/xp/wine/...)
What is the connection between the 2 computers? 10 MBit, 100 MBit, 1GBit, or is it a internet connection ?

And of course, what where your scanning options? (exact value, unknown inital value? byte, 2 byte, ...? )

I couldn't get the error to reproduce on my network, but I've replaced the communications parts with something else that should be more compatible. And because I fixed some scanning bugs in the main scan routines these crashes may be gone. (not sure though)

i was able to create a virtual machine using vmware and it actually works as another computer inside a computer.
I was able to setup the network connection between both computers (my computer and the virtual computer) Problem is that whenever i scanned it always says scan failed. And this is what it says server side
Code:

Server started on port:6900
192.168.125.1 made an connection!
config
Update timer intervals
Process list
Keep-alive
Open process
First Scan
New Scan
Process list
Process list
Keep-alive
Open process
First Scan
New Scan
Process list
window list
Open process
First Scan
Keep-alive

although it didnt give any error there.. i still says "Scan Failed!"
whats wrong?
anyway m OS is an win98 upgraded to xp
and my virtual machine is XP booted

Does the memory view part work ?
If that freezes or just gives back ?? ?? ?? it's propably vmware thats messing up. If it freezes try adding a 4 byte address to the list with address 00400000, that address should exists most of the time, and see if it return ?? or a normal value

Also, wich of the 2 computers was the server? the vmware or the real?
