Im kinda new to the CE source thing, but ive been programming in c++ for quite a while. I have compiled CE 5.3 but when i run it, the Extras page in the settings menu gives me a funny message about missing a driver. When I copy the files from the CE release into that dir, CE from source runs fine. WHen CE compiles, where is it that these files (dbk32.sys, etc) go?

it's enough to have dbk32.dll in the same folder as ce (just compile the dbk32functions project)
of course, it's betterr to have it combined with a working dbk32.sys file since all options in settings->extra use that combination (except stealth(usermode))

So when you compile Cheat Engine from source, the rest of the files it needs aren't also compiled?

Yes, look at compile.bat to see everything you need to compile.
