The Core i5 2500K is close to the i7 2600K and cost $216 |
I would hope the new top end smokes the old top end.

Both Core i7 2600K and Core i5 2500K are not targeting the high-end segment, in fact they're mainstream. The successor to the Core i7 980x will be another Sandy Bridge using socket 2011. The ones right now are replacing the mainstream socket 1156 to socket 1155. Also Quick Sync looks fantastic. |
Didn't analtech mention some quality issue with Quick Sync?
or i'm just reading it backward? _________________

Nevertheless, new parts should always saturate the older top end parts. Look at nvidia for god sakes. Once again, just like slovach, you are giving information that is not needed, or is just unimportant. _________________

Erm no, beating a higher end part is icing on the cake, anything else doesn't make sense. They should be superior to the parts they are meant to replace, which sandy bridge is and more.
A 5450 is not going to shit on a 4850 solely because it's newer. They serve two completely different purposes and target two completely different types of people.
Sandy Bridge looks unparalleled for the price, especially in gaming where per clock performance is king. As expected, FSB overclocking is dead, but the multiplier looks like at least a free 1ghz. Closing in on 5ghz on air it can't be beaten, it destroys its targeted market segment. |

I never understood how to install processors :\
Is there somewhere on your mobo that you can just clip it into place like ram? or do you have to solder the pins somewhere? _________________

I see you listen to Glenn Beck or some shit.
Lets recap on how retarded and or tinfoil retarded this is.
1. Kill switches are usually developed for a business market, due to sensitive information that can be on a laptop and or desktop. Also it is probably a certain chip in certain notebooks or have to be enabled by having a TPM device installed into the laptop also.
2. I do not know why you could even come up with this as Linux is able to run on anything, even if it could not run on Linux it would be due to Linux stopping any processors marked as "Genuine Intel" to not able to execute any kernel instructions. Please before making questions at least Google the things you have on your mind as it takes like 5 seconds. _________________

Core i7 2600K is mainstream not high-end, for a mainstream to kick the shit out of a high-end CPU at a fraction of the price says a lot. For you its unimportant, but you does not apply to the rest of us. _________________

I misread, but the most of you guys are just pushing due to the fact you can overclock EXTREME AMOUNTS on the highest binned chips. Which is extremely fucking stupid imo. _________________

| They are doing mid 4ghz on stock coolers, review sample or not those are good numbers. Might even get better later on another stepping. You are trying really hard to hate what has nothing to dislike. |
