But then we have HDD manufacturers saying...
320GB = 320,000,000,000Bytes Very Happy

To make their products appear bigger in size, they go by multiple of 1000 instead of 1024 Wink

Ah, size of DVD-R's also go by this rule Exclamation

And I hate this convention... why do they keep this practice Question

Wrong again. Pi is never ending, I could prove it to you, but I won't because:
1) You don't care
2) It would take a while
3) It's off-topic.

i'm well aware of the reasoning for declaring pi as an irrational number, but you said "pi is equal to 3.1415926535897932384626433832795"

but..pie could end end if the circle reaches a planck length, with the uncertainty the ratio of the circumference:diameter becomes messed up and under this condition pi can end. this above situation has been proven with the uncertainty principle and other bits of quantum mechanics

lol, nox, pi doesn't only have millions of decimal places. It has trillions, infact it's infinate. The reason why , Its becuase scientists are to trying to figure out if it has any repition.

Pi is rarely used for equations and what not, with more than 10 places.

Noz indeed, plus pi has been proven to be transcendental by great mathematicians such as Euler. Plus by definition irrational numbers are never ending and never repeating. Hence why you can't quantify pi as a rational, it is merely an approximation which some more accurate than others, but never exact
