| Noob Question: I'm a little confused here, why do all the PSU's say "Main Connector: 20+4 pin"? What exactly does that mean? Does it mean it's 20 and 24 pin ? Or does it mean 20+4 = 24? My motherboard says it's main connector is 24 pin. Sorry for my probably really retarded misconception.

Older mobos have a 20 pin, newer ones have a 24. They make the cable with a 20 pin part and an attachable 4 pin to support both.

| Jesus fucking christ, fine god damn, I didn't wanna spend over 800 dollars but since it's that god damn important, fine. Graphics card budget is raised to $150 find me the best for that price.

You shouldn't build a computer based solely on what others think or say you should have. You should take the recommendations with a grain of salt and mould them to your needs pertinent to whatever level you're at, enthusiast, gamer, etc. That being said, it's alright. Why do you need 8GB of RAM though?

4GB of RAM is more than enough for most people's needs.

I want this computer to last 3 years at least. 8GB of ram will probably be the standard then. Plus having 8GB makes me feel good inside.

I would imagine if you're looking for longevity, your computer will be out of date except for the RAM in 3 years. I didn't personally complain about your GPU, either. What are your actual intentions for it, a budget gaming rig? I still retain that 8GB is overkill for your setup, it doesn't seem proportional.

I still don't understand what's your point? Are you saying I shouldn't have 8GB of ram? What's wrong with having 8GB of ram? My i7 build had 16GB of ram. I would get two of these 8GB sets and I probably will get another later in the future. I don't understand what's wrong with having 8GB of ram. I mean, if I could have 32GB on a machine and not break a budget I will.

Shouldn't an i7 build have 12GB of RAM since its triple channel?
Anyways, 4GB of RAM is more than enough for current needs, and you can always upgrade in the future if you need more. It's not like same technology gets more expensive as time progresses.
You can throw in a bit more money into a different part of the rig, or just save it.

that 8GB kit is 75 bucks, I'm only paying about 25 dollars more than the decent 4gb kit. I don't see anything wrong with that since the more the merrier.
