Most of these "wipes" can be undone by companies like IBAS (Norwegian name)

Erm, not really. Modern drive density is so high that it's probably impossible to get anything meaningful off a drive that was hit with a zero pass.

And even if they do get something, there's probably a 99% chance it's not what they were looking for.

That software is extremely good at recovery whatever crap that is you have, even if you have formatted/over write your drive a lots of times.

a regular quick format, sure.

it's gone once you write over it which is why recovery software won't do any writes and why you should avoid them if you want any chance of recovering anything.

If you explain what you are trying to hide and why you are trying to hide it, we may be able to help you.

Why do you need to worry about "Destruction of evidence"? What evidence? Just say you were bored one day and had an old HDD lying around, so you completely took it apart to see what was inside and you accidentally dropped interior pieces, breaking them upon floor impact.

Took my very first HDD apart (broken) just for those magnets and the platters aren't as brittle as you think. In fact they're quite sturdy and shiny too.

In other words, they not made out of glass, so it won't shatter on impact

If you're that worried then just buy a new hard drive and take your old one to the dump.

Install a removable hdd tray in your computer, take 1 drive the tainted one we will call it, or if you like your conviction drive, have 1 clean one. Replace as necessary. Wherever you choose to hide your conviction drive make sure no one will find it.

That's what I did. They never found my drive.

This topic is POINTLESS if you're really that worried and in this much trouble why the fuck would you make this topic? Whoever is looking for you can get your internet history from your isp. Destroy your hard drive by throwing it on the ground 5-10 times. Or just Killdisk it.

Simple, because is not child porn related.
Also, i *disposed* the hard drives, i i realize things are suppose to be kept in a secret forever sometimes.
