Not true at all, standard RF only works for about 3-5feet, and bluetooth only works around 30ft.

Anyway, all you need is a standard usb or ps/2 port depending, the computer doesn't care if it's wireless.

I have a rather basic $40 Microsoft mouse and I've never had any issue
