You're welcome
That config should leave you an upgrade path to 8GB RAM, and some moderate overclocking, and if you wanted to you could get a 150GB Raptor as your boot drive and keep the 500 for storage. I would strongly recommend getting a second drive of some sort anyway for backups, as a computer tech you wouldn't believe how much work I get doing data recovery for people who thought a drive failure or virus etc. wouldn't happen to them. Of course if you don't keep anything important on your PC that's not an issue, but if you do, data loss will happen without backups, it's a matter of when, not if.
Now use that money you saved to buy an even bigger monitor and some nice speakers

Wait for the new Intel 45nm processors to come out in early January, and then build your computer. As for the motherboard chipset, don't go with 650i/680i, they are now officially not future proof, since they can't be used with the new Intel processors and because they are a pain when overclocking Quads.. Go with X38 or P35 chipsets. I would also suggest you to wait till the new 8800GTS to be released, in mid December. And by the time the new Intel processors are released, hopefully expensive X38 motherboards will drop in prices *looks at P5E3 Deluxe*
