Like, around 200-350$?
Need it for school, there's honestly so many on the market that I don't know what I'm looking for. I've never purchased one.

Tablets are good for consuming information, but they are shitty producing information.
Stick to laptop or "transformer" style computer if you want to actually be productive in your work.

Depends what ur using it for. Like Clifford said its gud for consuming info.
I have iPad pro with apple pencil and keyboard. That would cost you over a thousand dollars tho. Not sure if u want something like that.
For me I use it everyday and for many different applications.
Plus tablet only "worth it" when you they're either the iPad pro or the surface pro. The rest I would just get a laptop

Wow, you have some real shitty advice on here.
Honestly, first of all, if you're getting one for school, stay away from the Apple products unless you are a rich bastard.
I highly recommend an Android tablet. If you can, get a Samsung Note 10.1 like me. If not, try to get another tablet that has at least a stylus, as well as a "stylus only" mode. Try it out at the store, try writing with it and see if your hand/finger touches interfere with your writing while you are writing with the stylus. If they don't, that is good. The Microsoft Surface tablets do not have this. Not only that, they cost way over the budget you specified, are not portable enough, but otherwise, might be good for notes because they come with a keyboard.
Also, idk why people are telling you they are "shit at producing information". I survived about one year and a half doing college courses and producing all my art on my Samsung Note 10.1.
The reason I'm recommending the Samsung one is because it's an Android (Any Android tablet will do if that's over your budget).
The reason I say Android is because, you can root your tablet so that you can run multi-windows (The Surface can do this without rooting, but that costs too damn much). This feature will allow you to run your PDF readers, as well as your calculator, over your note taking app (S-Note comes with the tablet and has a stylus-only mode, it is good for producing notes, copy pasting from the ebook, etc, but the pages are too small. You can still install other apps from the Play Store and find the one that works best for you).
Another thing that Apple devices lack is support for a stylus. They are years behind on stylus support, and even to this day, third party styluses just won't do the job. They're not meant for styluses, they're meant for finger touch, for the most part. Yes, they come with a mediocre "Apple Pencil" which costs $99, but can only be used with the newest version of the iPad. There are no features, the only reason it costs so much is because it "looks like a pencil". What the fuck?
Lastly, good luck with college/school/whereever. If you ever need ebooks, check the site ebooks.wtf. It is a site where pirated ebooks are "sold" for anywhere between 1 cent to up to 3 dollars max in Bitcoin. It is truly a dream come true for tablet users throughout the world. They close registration for about 10 and a half months a year, but sometimes they do reopen registration via invite code. When they do, post here and ask for an invite code.
Oh yeah, about tablets. If you drop them, they cost a fortune to fix, even more than the tablet in Samsung's case. So get something to protect your screen in case that shit happens. Also, replacement styluses just aren't the same as the originals, so be careful with that also. You'll be carrying them around a lot in school, and it's easy to trip and fall.

So basically this guy basically said what I said but spent more time saying it
Only good tablets are iPad Pro or surface pro but that's expensive unless you wanna go through headaches like this nigga has which you might as well just stay with laptop
Trust. U pay $350 for a tablet, it becomes paperweight in 2 weeks
Also Apple Pencil is not mediocre. It's the best stylus in the market right now. Don't go with any other style besides Apple Pencil at this time imo if you plan to get tablet with stylus. They're bad. You'll find better use diddling your gf pussy with the other stylus than using it to draw or write notes.

Thanks for the opinions guys, it's what I needed to hear. I bought a laptop like a week ago, and was considering going the tablet route - not so much for the money, but I was contemplating the usefulness of a stylus with a tablet.

yah tbh $350 tablet + stylus you buy on market are not worth the money. They'll do the job but the money you put just to have this luxury is not worth it. only tablet + stylus combination that's "worth" your money is ipad pro +pencil imo but again thats a luxury
ipad pro with apple pencil and keyboard is great for school. split screen feature and specs. makes everything very fluid. you can have all ur textbook notes books etc on ur ipad and u can do them split screen. You can draw diagrams, models, color code, organize notes super fast and responsive. You can record class lectures and research things while in class super fast. but this is an expensive luxury.
If ur struggling in school, buying something like apple pro + pencil will not make your grades better. if ur doing well in school buying something like this will make your life easier, by i'd say 10-15% if I were to quantify it. my friend has a surface pro. hes an electrical engineer major. it's made his life easier, but his GPA didn't improve.

Realistically a paper notebook only costs a dollar. I was mainly going towards a tablet for math and science, but dishing out 1300$+ for a decent tablet didn't seem logical to me. The 'green' side of it also was a nice addition. I'm writing on the laptop at school right now, and I'm not regreting my decision.

A laptop is very large to carry but the edge you get from typing over handwriting is definitely worth it. I only said tablet because you asked about tablets. Laptops are definitely better if your teacher allows them. You don't have to spend $1300, that's only for Apple Products. There are Android tablets for $160
@Antagonist
The Apple Pencil is ridiculous. I don't care what anybody else thinks because Wacom has outperformed them in every way possible for under $40. There are no new features in an "Apple Pencil" that have not been observed in styluses predating it, so no, not worth the $99.

Literally everything on that list, an Android tablet has been able to do before the Apple Pencil was even invented. Especially the multi window thing, Apple was wayy too slow on that, lmao. None of that shit is an "expensive luxury". Apple has made it seem that way. Stop burning a hole in your dad's wallet and switch to Android now.

I'm not sure on tablets personally but if you're comparing the Apple Pencil to Wacom pens and saying it's better you're delusional Antagonist. Unless the Wacom ones used on tablets are cheapo ones from the Bamboo or something?

Obviously it's great or else wouldn't have bought it | I have used a lot of Wacom pens and have tried the Apple pen that my cousin owns and I don't agree that it's too great. It's fine, but it isn't as good as the good Wacom pens.

r u using their styluses im talking about stylus not the pens. idk anything about their pens that only work for their tablet computers
im sure their pens that are specifically for their tablet computers probably better than apple pencil.
im talking about the stylus. i bought their best stylus which is the itnuos creative stylus 2.
better grip
better battery
and it was nice.
but its not as smooth, fast, or responsive as the apple pencil. which is the main component thats more important than "features" buy monero seems to get off on
idk which is better for drawing with the pressure technology they have vs apple pencil, but i know that apple pencil have better palm rejection.
the intuos creative stylus 2 is nice but its definitely not better than apple pencil.
i cant speak for their pens for their tablet computers

I don't mean for tablet computers, but graphics tablets. I'm not sure they'll have much difference between them though. It could potentially be a software issue if they're not as responsive on some tablets etc.
