i realize many of you here despise(if that word is strong enough) VB
be it .net or 6
but this is the programming section and vb is a language
so if someone posts a vb topic just kindly say something dont be like

Thank you, finally. I really don't get why people hate it. I mean the whole thing is practicly delphi. And people talk about delphi all the time (not as much as asm and C++ though) and don't flame it. But when people bring of VB people start flaming.

It's served it's purpose, it's not updated or used anymore. (unless your company feels like being lazy or cheap)
VB.net will have support in the future. There is no point to VB6 any more.
e: and in my opinion, it's better to work with C# than VB.net. Not only higher pay, should you ever get a job, but it produces slightly more efficient code, which is nice. |

The pun doesn't work because
a) The food is spelled 'pie', not 'pi' - which would be pronounced as 'pee' to anyone that didn't know what <insert symbol here> looked like when spelled out.
b) pi isn't algebra, it's geometry. Their only relation is that they are both in the high school GE math curriculum.
Visual BASIC is a beginner's programming langauge. If you want to ignore everyone talking about how limited it is and how much of a set back it is for learning other more applicable, common-in-the-workplace languages, then you can see it as everyone trying to usher you into a more intermediate, thought-provoking language. This makes it, again, for your own good. Don't take it as an attack.
And no, it isn't anything like Delphi. In fact, I really don't see the connection at all other than having a few similar lines which will be true in all languages... other than brainfuck or LOLCode. The only other similarity I see is that Delphi has a bit more English-based keywords as to where the C languages like to incorporate all the symbols they can muster up before moving on to abbreviations. However, it's still no where near visual basic.

| i agree i think that people "like" delphi cause all the "famous" people here in cheat engine forums use delphi so they think "oh if i learn delphi then ill be like them" i guess that may be why most people like delphi and hate vb but other people hate vb cause microsoft screws up xD |
