Java doesn't have pointers, right? Also was Java really intended to be used for toasters? That'd explain the name.

Everything in Java is a pointer, unless you're declaring a primitive type.
If Java was really designed for toasters, that toaster would be one high-tech, re-programmable toaster.

If Java was designed for toasters, you would be able to make a rootkit for a "POSIX box".
(You get a hero cookie of you know what I am talking about.)

I have no idea what you're talking about.... but a quick search brought me the info that POSIX is an interface standard defined by the IEEE that governs the design of OS for the goal of compatibily?

Hint: You are thinking to literally. It is an allusion to something.
Edit: Nobody wants the cookie?
Edit 2: Cookie removed to avoid redundancy.

Don’t target POSIX boxes
POSIX boxes are too portable, you have to ensure that your virus works on a toaster, before you can ensure that it works on NetBSD… =Z
Stolen from Zuan.now for my own research
some unix based os that can run on toasters. otherwise known as NetBSD.
toaster = crappy computer.
I think that's what sums it up.

Yes, because you can't make subliminal messages with my browser. I have it set so no font can go under 6 point. XD

I swear to god I saw that Java was originally designed for a toaster... IN A BOOK! It also said that pointers were removed because it lead to weaknesses. That's why I'm asking, this book doesn't sound very... Uhh, correct. Also Java wasn't supposedly designed for one toaster, but multiple toasters and since it was good so compatible with everything, it later got developed into a language.

Whatever book you're reading, trash it.

| and burn it too, pointers are EVERYWHERE and you should learn and understand them if you want to understand how programs work, not going to even mention the toaster thing.

Lol alright I'll take your advice, I'll burn it first, freeze the ashes in ice, and trash it under lock and key . About the pointer thing, does that mean all the addresses point to themselves or something? Or are they able to point to different addresses?

| to different addresses, all types except primitive ones (byte, char) are pointers
