im getting kind of bored with using cheat engine to change values on normal flash games with cheat engine. i want to learn how to do health hacks, and hack bigger games that you cant just search for the value, or the value x8

Try hacking single player games.

You have not learned anything by just doing flash games, The same old crap over and over.. Only now you realize what has happened.

Just look up some of those downloadable games and start trying to hack.
You will notice from the start flash is nothing compared to learning to hack a real game.

The reason i stess these sites is because the download of the game can be downloaded in less then 3 minutes. So your not sitting and waiting for a long download, and you can get to hacking in 5 minutes.

So far i have seen no-one here take this advice and use it to learn anything. If they have no-one has posted any work they have done/learned.

ty, but what im trying to say is that i dont know how to do anything but search for the value x8, and just giving myself something i dont know how to do isnt going to help me much, labyrnth, i apprieciate all the help, especially in my other post, your one of the most active people on this forum, and i appreciate it, but can ya help me some more with this, i really want to lean how to hack better. or maybe theres something im not getting, can you help me understand?

Yeah, your understanding that when you get one of these small games.
You dont have to worry about 8 times the value and crap.


Just do a scan for what you see, no special tricks at all really.
For example:


3 lives in a game.


scan for 3
lose 1 life
do a second scan for 2

It is easy as that, If you are doing flash games there is no reason you cant do a normal game, granted you will need help in certain situations im sure. But the concept is the same.


Now, on normal games you do not know what scan type to use such as 2 byte, 4 bytes ,8 float or what ever.
Thats the part where you gain knowledge, This is where people that only know how to hack flash games differ from regular game hackers.

We dont know what type the value is in, so we look for it.

The method i use is.

start with 4 byte scans. if i find nothing in about 5 or 6 trys of several scans.
I move on to float. and do a few test scans there.
If nothing i try 8 bytes. then double then 2 bytes.

After that it gets harder to find what you are looking for.
But usually you will find it in 4 byte scans, and some floats.

So from what im saying , you can already see that flash hacking is just 2 basic attack methods.

flash 7 and double for the type.
flash 9 and 8 times the value on 4 byte scans.
^ Just 2 lousy things to remember.... no hunting for anything.

Regular games. It is possibly your value you are hunting for can be in anything. More of a challenge and broad search. Which will definitely cause you to gain skill.
You will start to see a basic pattern in what types things are normally found in. So after a while you can find them fairly easy, depending on th game.

So what are you going to do now?
Why not get one of those games from RetroSpec and keep this thread active and we will see what you can do.

Post what you are doing here, this will be a active thread for this game and you will be doing the work. Also it can be a good reference for others in your shoes that really want to learn. They can see if you make mistakes and what was said by me or anyone else who is following the thread to help you and anyone else along.

Im thinking it will be kinda fun and a multi posted tutorial all in one thread.

I normally do not teach anyone after a person, i taught took my exact words and source to make it like he was the one who did it, and posted it in several sites.

So if you are really interested in doing real games and not just flash, get Chucky Egg and start working. Post your work, and we will work on teaching you to hack this game. I dont think you will have too much of a problem.
Dont worry about posting something silly either, just post it.
Anyone who makes fun of it is a damn fool and a moron, because this thread will be for you and others to learn by hints and help right through this game. After this you can take the concept and work on others and before you know whats up. You will have a pretty good grasp on it.

Then you will be gearing towards wanting to learn advanced work from reading tutorials on some advanced hacking methods.

thnx, im anxiouse to begin trying to hack that game, but i gtg for a few hours, my parents are divorsed and i gtg visit my dad

mind if i post my work. i really have fun messing around with DF and AQ, and even though i'm not much of a game player i do loooove to cheat. so i'm totally in if you don't mind. i did chuckie egg, levels, lives, score, but if you want to reserve that for the original poster then i'd be happy to do another game, just point me to it.

16 levels i believe is what it was, maybe the "dark" level was 17, but i can go back and check. i didn't even do the timer though, will check it and edit the post playing cybernoid2 right now.

Edit - Timer has 200 total value. made a ct for the game, want my to upload it?

Edit - what process do you use to find out the max levels? besides just freezing the eggs needed to 0 and letting it run. also what hex editor do you use?

Hehehe, way way more then 16. Try 16097 levels. But level 16097 crashes after a few seconds.

So 16096 levels with no crash.
There are 2 level address's one will do like a instant warp.
and the other is just the visual.
================================================
4 timer address's and any of the 4 can freeze the time.
1 address can extent the time, But it looks nasty cause it makes a red line across the game.
Yes the 1 address that has 200 is the one you can use to extend the time.

hey im back, i extracted the file to my documents, and then tried, i also tried the different screen resolutions, but nothing worked so im going to the other game

edit-and it says illegal memory address

edit-i use winzip

edit-i downloaded winrar, im going to start hacking the game now

edit-i froze the counter (read the above post of the timer being at 200)

edit-9999999-score

edit-5 lives left, 10 altogether-froze

edit-dont know how to get past lvl 1

edit-lol last edit, it doesnt go to lvl 30000, you need a certain score to gain the next lvl, the timer is full at 200

done, i'll go to the other game you suggested now.

done with that game, but labrynth, all i;m doing here is a 4byte scan for the value, im ready for more, something besides jsut searching the value i see.
