|

I’m having an issue with DBVM in Cheat Engine related to Intel VT-x. Here’s what happens:
If I enable Intel VT-x in the BIOS, Cheat Engine says: “Your CPU does not support DBVM.”
If I disable Intel VT-x in the BIOS, Cheat Engine says: “Could not launch DBVM: The Intel VT feature has been disabled in your BIOS.”
It seems like I’m stuck in a loop where enabling VT-x makes DBVM think my CPU is incompatible, and disabling VT-x makes it ask for VT-x to be enabled.
When intel VT-x is disabled Cheat engine says "My systems supports dbvm" but i cant start because intel VT-X is disabled in the bios.
What can I do to fix this? For reference:
My CPU is [intel core i7-11800H].
Any help would be appreciated!

you're likely already inside a virtual machine
run this in an admin command prompt and then restart windows
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

I did that still the same. "Your cpu must be able to run dbvm to use this function" I am in a VM, but i dont know how to get out of that without disabling it in the Bios.

did you run it as an administrator? And no errors?
And did you actually restart windows or did you just press the power button ? You need to actually restart the system. (power button is just a hibernation sleep/wake)

Yes i am running it as admin. I use windows 11 and when i do "systeminfo" i get : A hypervisor has been detected. Features required for Hyper-V are not being displayed." I dont understand why a hypervisor is still detected.

For me it's usually the stupid dword in regedit having a 1 still as Windows is crap and doesn't disable it, even though you've used an admin CMD to turn off Hyper-V.
Take all the usual steps which Darkbyte has mentioned and you can find all over the forum, the one thing that works for me is this:
open regedit:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceGuard
change the correct dword virtualization security to 0 and restart boom enjoy DBVM!
