|
|
I've installed Windows 7 Games on W10 so I can practice using the Solitaire game, which the CE Help guide claims is an easy game to practice on. The version I'm using is 6.1.7600.16385.
I don't know why, but for the life of me, I can not find the score address!
The guide shows it should be a 4-byte scan, though I've even selected ALL for value type, and changed the search options to writable and nonwritable, with the same results. I mean the score is very basic; it increments usually only by 5 points at a time. I have the timer off so the score doesn't decrease.
I start with First Scan, ALL, Exact = 5 // 4,346 results
Increase my score in the game to 10
Click Next Scan, ALL, Exact = 10 // 1 result
Increase my score in the game to 15
Right away, I know it's not the correct address because the one address did not increase to 15.
Close CE and Solitaire, and try again. After 3 to 5 times of repeating this process, I may finally get what appears to be the score address, but it only works one time, so obviously, it's not the correct address.
Changing the value does update the score in the game, but only that one time. Then it starts changing to random numbers that's not even related to the score.
So, I can understand this one address is obviously not the real score, but why is it not finding it consistently when doing a search? It's almost like MS added anti-cheat protection to this version of Solitaire, which I find hard to believe.
I seem to have the worst luck with finding simple games to practice on.
Any suggestions?

The value displayed by the card may not be equal in CE.
