Cheat Engine

[Game Hacking Dojo]

I would like to know how the cheat engine communicates with the injected DLL in a debug procedure.

I tried reading the VEHDebug/DebugHandler.pas but I didn't see that being stated there. And maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Does it use shared memory by using CreateFileMapping?
If so, can I have a brief idea about the process?

yes

it uses shared memory and event handlers

when there's an exception it fills in the data and triggers an event letting ce know there's data in the shared memory and then waits till another event object gets set

ce then does it's thing and then sets that event and the process continues
