Hiya. today i encountered the most peculiar error ever!



here's what i did:
- i'm using custom compiled ce (just to be safe)
- i was hacking a game
- got what i was looking for
- wrote a basic trainer (done it 100+ times in past)
- trainer executed just fine (multiple times)
- i then closed game and trainer
- opened trainer 1-2 more times and it worked fine
- was browsing youtube and internet on firefox (it has been open entire time)
- 10-20 minutes later i wanted to take screenshot of trainer and got this error

what the actually hell is this? i rebooted pc and still getting it. trainer is fine as it works in virtual machine.
i tried regenerting it, but i get same issue.

i tried different custom version of CE and it works with that.
all my previous trainers work fine aswell.

how can trainer.exe just stop working like that? why does it work in virtual machine, but not mine? SAME trainer generated from SAME .ct file on different custom CE (renamed + compiled) works fine. it's issue with this specific CE.
my CE is NOT installed, i compiled only 64-bit version and running it directly from the .exe.
i get no errors when using custom CE or generating trainers, it's just when launching the trainer and it worked fine before! i'm baffled, how is this even possible and why?

is there some kind of CE setting/cache/temp file/config that trainers also use? i can't wrap my head around this, please help! thanks in advance.

Does, by any chance your trainer change any values that might become zero at some point?

yes it does, but how would you explain that without game running, it started up just fine, but then it just stopped.

and how you explain that it works in virtual machine that doesn't even have CE nor game installed?

i used some scripts from chatgpt and i think it might have messed with some CE registry or environment, but i have no clue where to look or what to even look for. i'm just BAFFLED by this. never seen it before, can't figure it out.

EDIT: nil or zero doesn't refer to 0 values btw, it refers to ?? values, as in not allocated or doesn't exist. either way it was working fine, it just stopped working on its own.

and furthermore, how you explain that same trainer, rendered from same .ct works if i use different ce? it HAS to be some CE setting that also effects trainer, but i think only DB is able to answer this.

Your code probably has bugs in it. Hard to say where if you don't post your code.

are you professional troll? please stop replying if you got nothing relevant to say.

if code has bugs, why did trainer.exe work and then stopped working?
why does it work on every other PC, but not mine?
how is it bug in code if it works for my friend, but not for me?
you are making 0 sense, you're just trolling and nagging at me.

also explain why blank trainer with NO code does same thing? i tried compiling test trainer and it has same issue. there's something wrong with that specific CE environment and it happened on it's own, but by all means, keep on trolling. i will just mute you. clearly you are more interested in pissing people off and nagging at them than helping.

disable window form position saving in ce's settings

If it works for everyone but you, then you're the one with the problem. Figure out what's different between your computer and everyone else's.

thanks. i was about to ask where it is, but exact option is called "save window position". i had a strong feeling it was some simple CE specific setting, but out of curiousity, HOW/WHY did it mess up the trainer like that? i've always had it turned on and never had issues. so odd.

anyway now trainers are working again :)
