How do I cheat?

Hello, I was just wondering, is absolutely EVERYTHING required in the cheat engine folder for it to work? It takes up a lot of disk space and I would like an explanation of what everything does because some o it just looks like junk but it might not be I just dont know what everything does, Im afraid to click them because they might break something or be a virus.

only cheatengine-xxx.exe and lua53‐64.dll are needed

the rest only when the need arrises (dotnet, java, trainer maker, tutorials, help files, symbol extensions, etc...)

it takes only 76.1 mb, why is it takes alot of space?
