|
|
Im trying to follow Cheat Engine Tutorial Step 8 : Multilevel Pointers from youtube watch?v=3dyIrcx8Z8g (I am not yet allowed to post the full link)
Afaict I am performing the exact same steps as in the video. But when I get to "scan for this address" and compare with the pointer map I generated at first, andmake sure to tick of compare and select the address value, it keeps finding apparantly infinite of paths. I tried to let it run for 5 minutes and it had evaluated more than 500 billion paths and still going. So I must be doing something wrong??
I try to follow the tutorial several times, starting completely over each time. But the same thing happens every time. I do think I have been very careful to look very closely at what is happening in the tutorial video and following the exact same steps... What could be the reason for this?
Anyone else have experienced the same problem?

so you did:
1:find correct address
2:generate pointermap.
3:close tutorial
4:start tutorial
5:find correct address
6: pointerscan for address and compare against pointermap made in step 2 and address found in step 1
Also, paths evaluated and paths found are 2 different things. Evaluating is just a number, number found is the results

Im sorry, I didnt post this question here until I had tried for a few hours actually. Weirdly a few minutes after posting I figured it out, I noticed that some of the fields for Pointerscanner scanoptions was not the same as in video. Maximum offset value was 4095 but in the video it is 2047 and my max level was set to 7 but in video it is 5. I must at some point have set these values long time a go probably.
Anyway after changing to the same value as in the video it worked! Sorry for the trouble!
