im looking for the download links to a previous version, does cheat engine not allow downloads of previous versions? I'm specifically looking for version 6.5

You can download back to 6.5 from github.
I can't post links so you'll have to do a little searching, not much.

It seems like all exe. downloads have been removed on github and those direct links. I desperatly need 6.8.1 in order to play an apparently ancient game. So where can I download them now?

You can find 6.8.1 from the web archive here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20181026170325/https://github.com/cheat-engine/cheat-engine/releases

It'll say the file does not exist and will redirect you, let it and it should redirect to a working link as of this post atm.

use sourceforge they have 6.5 use this sourceforge.net/projects/cheat-engine.mirror/files/6.5/ i can't post urls so just highlight the website and open in new tab it should work
