how can I open or attach CETRAINER extension file?

playing football manager, found interesting CETRAINER file. But when I open the file, 2 popups come up. something like

'There is newer version ce. recommended to use that'
'this ce version has no support of trainer yet'

does this mean I can't use this file in Macos?

downloaded 7.2 osx.zip from official ce website

rename the cetrainer to .CT and then try that. But it's very likely it won't work as the MAC and Windows versions of that game are very different (might even has different function calling mechanics)
