Look for a byte value is either 0 or 1 - based on whether it is enabled or not.

Then, see what code writes that and then trace back from there.
Autohotkey's window spy may even get you the name of the control.
Yes I have. I type in text, the button gets enabled, I remove it, it gets disabled When I do check what accesses the address, I can remove functions that affect the textbar. But none affect the button itself.
