I am having a difficult time finding and modifying the Gold Value in the VR Game Swords of Gargantua. I just want to use this for myself, but I have not been able to identify the proper value. I am very new to Cheat engine still, but I tried searching the in game gold value, modified it, but could never pin down the right value to change it. I tried looking for Hex Values, as well as all other forms of strings, floats, doubles, etc.

The game does allow modding to modify player stats and what not, but I can't for the life of me find a way to modify the in game gold to cut down on the grind some.

I don't know this game, but if you can buy/sell something or even earn some gold, you can find this precious value.
If your gold value doesn't show up when you look for it, maybe this value is a little bit customized.

Ex : your game shows "500 golds" but the value itself is the result of this operation "500*100/2" (totally random operation btw).

So you can try to use "Unknown initial value".
Next, you do something to earn/lose gold in your game.
Finally, you do a "Next Scan" with the option "Decreased value" or "Increased value" (if you lose or earn gold)

You can do that multiple times to find gold value.

Tips : Try to use sometimes the option "Unchanged value" during your Next Scan. It will hide some wrong value quickly. (Be sure not to change your gold in-game during this process, obviously).

So I was actually able to identify the correct thing to change, but when I change it, it is not changed in game.

I also discovered there is a 'player level' associated which caps the progress in which you level up, I have a bad feeling I won't be able to change either value, or I'm just a goober and doing it wrong! Any input would be excellent.

If you decrease your gold by 1, can you see a difference in-game ?
When you change this value, it resets to it's original state or it stay at the value you choose ?

No, when I change my gold it does not change in game, but when I gain/lose gold, the value inside of Cheat Engine changes to be the new total.

You found what we call the 'display value' - copy of the real one.
You can either try to backtrace to the original value from here (see where the copy comes from), or, you can choose to try different search techniques.

I have no idea how to search beyond the standard methods Very Happy
