what structure size and level did you give ?
if a structure size bigger than 4096 it can take a while yes

yeah, 999999 with level 7 can take a few years yes
did you at least use the limit nodes option?

weird, the default should have ticked the max different offsets per node. I guess you unticked it at one point
anyhow, try with a trhe dfefault of 4096 structsize and level 7 first, if that finds nothing, try 8192 level 6, then 8192 level 7, and gradually increase the offset and level

if you use extremely high offsets it will help limiting the time it will take.
Else just use normal offsets

30 minutes usually.
But if longer try stopping the scan and go for a lower level. eg start at level 5 and see how long that takes

It depends on the settings you've input and (roughly) the size of the game's memory. Maybe it'll take less than a second, or maybe you'll die long before it finishes.
You should also take into account what type of game it is or what language/engine was used to make it. In an emulator, one of the offsets is likely to be ridiculously big which will make pointer scans impractical (find the first 1-2 offsets manually, then scan). VMs in general (flash, java, CIL stuff, etc.) aren't good for the pointer scanner in my experience. Also don't bother trying with browser games.
Perhaps code injection could be a suitable alternative? Search "injection copy"

I usually do few pointermaps (one by one after game restart, loading different level, etc). Find address, add it to the list, rightclick the list and choose generate pointermap.
Pause process, it won't use most of the CPU time. (CE bottom left button "advanced options", then pause button)
I start pointerscan with pointermaps and size4095 level7 (level5 if you are impatient):
Wait one hour. If zero found you can already give up. Multilevel pointers won't work, you have to use different method.
If it finds something, like 10, 100, 10'000 or more, stop pointerscan (you can skip this whole "resume" thing while making this test), restart the game and windows, create new game profile or move your saves to different location, attach CE to it and do pointer rescan:
- find address, copy it's hexadecimal representation to clipboard
- open PTR file - in main CE window press CTRL+M, then CTRL+P, CTRL+O.
- now rescan - CTRL+R, paste address, click OK
If zero left you can give up. Again, multilevel pointers won't work, you have to use different method.

btw i tried with 15 level and found 5k results (in the first 10 min and nothing more after 6+h) but all start from unityplayer.dll or mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll
that kind of pointer can be used ? or are useless?
