How do I cheat?

So I am new with cheat engine, and tried to make my own cheat table. For this, I was using the game Slime Rancher. I would put a plort in the refinery, then more until I found the right address and was able to change the amount. I did this for everything, then saved the cheat table. When I relaunched Slime Rancher, and loaded up the cheat table, the addresses were completely different and didn't point to the plorts in the refinery anymore. Can anyone help?
