This isn't a request or complaint.

I'm just curious about how hyper-v precludes using DBVM. I can think of many reasons why this might be (security restrictions, unshareable hooks, Microsoft being a d*ck, etc.).

Hyper-V doesn't emulate the hypervisor instruction set (DBVM also doesn't) so when DBVM tries to use those instructions it gets an error

Tip: VMWare does emulate it
