|
|
After running Cheat Engine 6.5 some time, In the Memory Viewer window, when I right click an instruction and then click on the Assemble option in the context menu that appears, the context menu disappears and I hear a windows sound and that's it. When running Cheat Engine 6.5 at first the Assemble command does what it should do, i.e. to show a window with textbox displaying the right clicked instruction, allowing me to edit it and click ok to apply the change. Why later it just plays windows sound and stops showing me this window? In other words, when starting Cheat Engine 6.5, I am able to edit single instructions via the Assemble command in the right context menu of the Memory Viewer window, but later I am not able to edit single instructions this way anymore. It is best and most convenient way to edit single instruction this way, rather than any other way. I find myself have to restart Cheat Engine 6.5 over and over again, to bring back the Assemble command to work properly, and sure that this is very annoying close everything and reopen all windows. I want this issue to be fixed in the next version of Cheat Engine.

also, are you using assemble on an instruction with a breakpoint? if so, first remove the breakpoint

I don't know, what happen if I am trying to assemble modified instruction or instruction, where I changed registers there?
By the way, I have finished download and installed your Cheat Engine 6.6 on my machine. After the lecture, I will test and examine it.
Do you have any idea what causes the Assemble command to stop working?
If the user/hacker is unable to assemble modified instruction, where the registers there have been changed, then at least an appropriate message box should be displayed, instead of just playing the windows sound. This is very confusing.

Only addresses with a breakpoint on it don't allow editing, but alternatively could be some GUI bug (ce uses the Lazarus GUI library, which sometimes has issues with multi monitor setups, or minimizing windows)
