|
|
Hi there,
I try to launch / open my game Dark Soul II by this script.
| Code: | | shellExecute("D:\\Dark Souls II Crown of the Old Iron King\\Game\\DarkSoulsII.exe") |
Game location string got from DS II desktop shortcut property.
When execute that script, it give error : INI file not found.
But when launch game via double click desktop shortcut, game open properly.
Anybody know, what's wrong ?
Thanks |

Just guessing, but a few things that initially come to mind:
1. Are you running the target and/or CE as admin (right-click: properties/compatibility/run this program as an administrator)? --Maybe try with and without to test.
2. Do you have any parameters being defined for your shortcut that maybe are not getting applied via CE? |

No, I didn't change anything since I installed tat game to my machine.
Next, I have read again installation procedure on game DVD cover (cracked version), It say, "run the game from desktop icon after installed".
"...But when launch game via double click desktop shortcut, game open properly. .."
So, i tried this script :
| Code: | | shellExecute("C:\\Users\\Public\\Desktop\\Dark Souls II Crown of the Old Iron King.lnk") |
It work good.
I don't know why the game can't launch use it's exe file by default location. Maybe the game has design like that.

Are there any special parameters being applied to the shortcut in the target field?
Also, the game is installed on D drive, but your shortcut is located on C drive?
Still sounds like a permission issue or a parameters issue. |

++METHOS,
I think the shortcut saved on drive C because desktop folder automatic created by windows system as default folder to store all shortcuts placed on the desktop screen.
In this case i have installed my windows on drive C.
Example :
an app on drive D with name xxx.exe, when we use "send to desktop (create shortcut)", windows automatic will creating a new shortcut icon for that app on the desktop screen, by checking property for that shortcut icon, we get provided path address / link by windows.
By default windows will provide :
| Code: | | C:\Users\Public\Desktop\app name.lnk |
