What kind of SSD should I have, pretty simple one just for Softwares you know, Cheat Engine mostly.

External, Internal I'm not sure which one to get, anyone could post a link for me for a good one.

Also I've seen alot have SATA II and SATA III Which one Is the best, does it need to support my mobo, I mean does my mobo supports either Sata II or III? I need to check before buying an SSD?

Any ssd > hdd, expensive ones provide even greater speed and durability, I'm using a basic 128gb Samsungs ssd and it's pretty awesome for everyday usage and c.e usage, any ssd should benefit you a lot.

It doesn't really matter if internal or external, although it does matter if you're using sata 2 or sata 3, usb 2 or usb 3.
I'm pretty sure your PC has either/both Sata 2 Sata 3 ports so no point checking.

If you have the money and got a M2 slot, look into Samsung 800/900 NVMe series ssd.

pointerscans prior to 6.5 benefit greatly from really huge and really fast ssd's, but if you use pointermaps in 6.5.1 and later for instant rescan the harddisk will hardly be used

normal scans do benefit from a fast disk . (especially if it's a scan with many results)

as for that ssd disj in the previous post, no. use a sata disk, or if your mainboard supports it m2
or if you have too much money and pci express ports free, get an pci express ssd

So if I got it right, having an SSD doesn't matter then size, I would say 200+GB, Will it stop that damn slow PC moments when I scan for unknown float values in 64 bit games, and It will boost the Scan itself when looking for unknown and ofc other types of scans as well?

Not necessary stop but dramatically decrease the slow performance?

adding more RAM also improves unknown initial value scans (faster memory as well)

Oh ok, I'm on 8 RAM at the moment, I'm not planning on upgrading this part as for now, but SSD I heard is kinda of a "Must" component to have Smile

In my opinion, it should be > 100GB. Having an internal drive is also preferable, but that is just me.

Hmm 100GB sounds good, so External SSD 100GB Should be enough for some minor Softwares, I'm not planning on installing OS on it or might will depends If It's possible with this small amount of space, but External SSD should be good?

What about this one:

http://en.ksp.co.il/?uin=23566&select=.1033..153..691..378.&store=tverya

It's perfect to my budget, It's not expensive I could go with 200+ but I want it basically for Cheat Engine and perhaps a game or two in there.

In my opinion, it should be larger than 100GB. I have a 250GB SSD, but after using it for some time, I now wish that I would have purchased a higher capacity drive.

Keep in mind, and DB can correct me if I am wrong, but if you install a game that is 50GB (which is pretty standard for a newer, AAA title), and you perform an unknown initial value scan in CE, then you are essentially making a copy of the entire game on your drive (50GB + 50GB = 100GB), and unless you are compressing your scan folder, you have just consumed the entire drive. If you buy a 100GB drive, then you will probably only be able to use 90GB of it, if that.

Wait so you are saying that I need to have my Game installed on that SSD to see results with my Scan with Cheat Engine.

I want to get this by the way:

http://en.ksp.co.il/?select=.1033..153..691.&kg=&list=1&sort=2&glist=0&uin=23492&txt_search=&buy=&minprice=0&maxprice=0&intersect=&rintersect=&store_real=&store=keryon

It's pretty good, my mobo does not support Sata III and I can't find any on that store that supporst Sata II, but External Is not bad as well, I might just get it to use for Softwares, I dont really mind with windows boot time and other stuff.

I will install games and softwares, games just few thah I play..

But again, do I need ot have games that I want to hack on the SSD?

I assumed that you would want to install your games on the SSD (I would recommend doing so). But, yes, if you install your games on a disk drive, and you scan those files using CE from a solid state drive, then your scan times will be limited by the disk drive. The game data will be on the disk drive and that data must still be read -- those read times will be limited by the disk drive read times.

So in short having CE in SSD will improve the Scan Performance Smile

Thank you though METHOS for helping me out also Dark Byte and Arthur's Sister!

But yea I am going to install the game that I want to Hack on the SSD but then removing it, just taking space Is not what I want to have my SSD for.

Having your game and CE installed on a SSD will improve scan times and overall performance -- both, with CE and the game.

I have large capacity disk drives that I use for storage.

hmm I understand, yea I will do the same as you do thank you Razz

Also, TEMP File of CE, where should I have it does it matter ? I mean if I install it on SSD but not the OS Itself does it matter?
