That's probably not true, and what it means is certainly that the game uses ring 0 anti cheat softs with drivers such as XIGNCODE3 does with xhunter.sys
It does not mean that you need your own driver to cheat this game however it does mean that if you can't find undetected effective tools you will have to code your own stuff (that can be ring3)

| You may need a driver to load your hack if there is anti-cheat software like BattleEye that protects game access with default WinApi functions (e.g. ReadProcessMemory). You will have to writer your own driver, that gives your Ring 3 application a way to bypass their system api hooks -> create your own ReadProcessMemory function.

Does that work with x64 OSs? I actually thought PatchGuard prevented that

That's tue so far. You can buy a certificate, sign your driver and you are ready to go. Or you use some stuff like e.g. DSEfix (http://www.kernelmode.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3322). Regarding on which anti-cheat you try to defeat, there are other methods.

| In case of driver protection patching ReadProcessMemory, would this impact every call to readprocessmemory on the OS or would this impact only calls of ReadProcessMemory to the protected game ?
