I understand that. And believe me that I understand that shit sucks. Im not just sympathetic about, I'm empathetic about it. But majority of these people - and like I said Im sure a rare few have valid reasons. Speaking to the others. Yeah it sucks working 2 jobs and having no time just to make ends meet. But you take a closer look at their life and you take a closer look at the decisions they made leading up to those consequences of having to work 2 jobs you'll see a clear causation. I don't have data to show you. But I know some of these people and their exactly as that. I'm not saying these people are bad people either. They could be the nicest people you know. Great to be around with. Good hearted people. But being nice and a good samaritan just doesn't excuse the decisions they've made that led up to that type of lifestyle. And if they don't look in the mirror and see the problem, you can't help them.

It's not hard, but it requires being disingenuous which I didn't like so I gave the job up. I like helping people, not being a sleezy salesperson in it for themselves without a care for what they are selling.

By psychopath social skill are you saying that if I say hi to a person and get the person to like me by mimicking his/her body language. Tilting my head to the left a little when they're talking. Manipulating my tone of voice and energy to get a person to be more comfortable around me. Asking constructed questions to get them to talk more about themselves. Continuously mentioning their name (because people like hearing their name). So I can get them to like me. I'm a psychopath? Or does that mean I just have good social intelligence/social awareness and have social skills to get along with people?

right some of these people definitely made poor choices in life which led to their situation. some were born into this sitauation growing up with parents who didnt reach them the importance of education and getting a good job. theres plenty of reasons why they are currently working a minimum wage job. but once theyre stuck in that situation its very difficult to get out of it. im not talking about sympathy for them. like you said, im talking about understanding. my post wasnt directed towards you or any one person.

Right but they're people and deserve to be treated like they are. If these people didn't work those jobs and they all worked higher-tier jobs then who would work the shit jobs? Fuck, I sure as hell wouldn't want to. I'm sure most of these people understand that they've made poor choices, but there's nothing they can do about it... yet they're still treated like sub-humans. If these people got paid an acceptable amount they could have a chance to set their children along a better path than the path they took. Instead however, we get people raising their children in poverty, then those children grow up in poverty and raise their own children in poverty in a seemingly endless cycle of shit.

That NEEDS to change. Raising the minimum wage isn't going to instantly fix all of that, but it's a damn good step in the right direction.

More money isn't going to help lol. It's only going to enable the behavior. Money is an intensifier. Like I said raising min wage isn't the answer. Raising the min wage we wouldn't be able to compete with the rest of the world as a country. Again, the solution to fix this type of problem requires creativity and tackling it in another angle. Not just raise min wage or raise taxes. If people don't even know what money is. They're not educated about money how can they handle more money? Why do you see lotto winner become destructive? They're not prepared to handle that much amount of money. They don't know how to use it. So more money is definitely not going to help them.

And yeah they can do something about it. They're not a tree. If they don't like something in their lives, they have the freedom and power to change it.

They're working minimum wage, they won't have very much time to invest. If they were able to work less hours and get by then they would be able to focus on things outside of work. Also if it's anything like my public library it'll probably be closed by the time work hours are over.

The minimum wage won't be raised any time soon and here's why.

In order for capitalism to sustain itself you need a lot of classes, and the shittiest class in the entire economic system does work nobody else could dare to do, but it is so essential that without the services of that lowest class, the society would cease to function (strikes).

That being said, if you "rescued" people within that class, other people who are unemployed will fill in those gaps. You cannot eliminate that class unless you get rid of market competition. The only real solution is to make sure that the needs of the workers (health and well being, holidays, sick leaves, religious views, etc) are being recognized. This is the only thing that will prevent the lower classes from rising up to the bourgeois scum and tearing them apart.

(Now that I've written this, I'm never coming off the US Border shitlist)

Its astounding that there are people who still support crony capitalism(business model of fraud, the cause of the sub prime mortgage crisis), and claim that campaign finance reform is basically a non issue in comparison to republican values and issues. Antagonist is best at what he does. Being a misinformant and an idiot.

The minimum wage is just the tip of the iceberg with this level of income and wealth inequality/inequity, because there is so much more to it than just that.(factories being shipped over seas thanks to NAFTA, CAFTA, and soon to be TPP)To deny that there is a significant level of disparity in median incomes in America is to deny facts, and to be against everyone's best interest. A stronger middle class. When the middle class thrives, America thrives. It's been proven once when FDR was in office, and it's going to prove itself again when Bernie implements his plans.

Let's not forget the hole that republicans put us in with trickle down economics(turns out if you give the richest people large tax breaks, it doesn't transfer wealth to the middle class). Also the unpaid war Bush has put us through has created an even more unstable middle east.

To say Republicans (just the neo-cons really. Eisenhower and Lincoln were smart.) in general are bad for America and the world round, is an understatement. They are an imperial religous radical right wing insurgency, with politicians who represent the party paid for by the oligarchs.

You guys don't understand. The minimum wage class has to be there for the top classes to feed off of, like a vulture

I'll just say that your sad attempts at trying to argue about politics with me go nowhere because you have no legit standing, you don't even try to convince me with facts and actual points of persuasion. it's just baseless attacks and buffoonery, like this thread that you have created. You have given me and others the opportunity to point out why you're so stupid.

People are gonna look back at our current history and wonder why the fuck the republican party even exists, because it's clear as day that you don't have a clue how the future is going to look. You're stuck in the republican thought bubble. If you're gonna sip the kool-aid of the base, why not go full blown republican and become a theocrat and support your front runner Ted Cruz?

The only thing I can consider myself being stupid for is falling for your stupidity and replying to your troll ass posts, wasting my free time. It's fun though.
