Did you hear about the priest who got suspended for riding one during mass?
I don't care much about the hoverboards but the people who ride them tend to be the kind of showoff I don't like, while all they do is show off how ridiculously bad they spend their money.

If you're cool and you like to show off then I have no problem with you. If you're a dick who's life revolves around showing off his faked wealth and you buy a hoverboard to be an even bigger dick then that's a different story.
I just witnessed how two men of the train station's security freaked out about some guy's hoverboard and made him pick it up and continue by foot. Dicks.

no reason to freak out, but it is a recreational vehicle or short distances commuting vehicle. You can't ride those in a train station just as you can't ride a skateboard there.
That's why I bought a handle for my electric unicycle. You can't ride it everywhere, and carrying it is a hassle.
there are some backpacks that let you attach the hoverboard to it when you have to carry it.
