What are some more complex/reliable methods to find a value I am looking for?

Here's what I know:

-It's address changes whenever the value changes
-The stored value is not identical to what is actually displayed

Suggestions?

I don't know where to start with that. The value I am trying to find here is money, if that helps.

It is an online game but I am playing in its offline mode.

If the value changes addresses each time, you could try:

If the value doesn't match what is displayed, you could try:
Unknown initial value. Changed value. Unchanged value.

If both are true, give up.

I suspect both are true but I am not sure.

I can do a string scan and find the value in question, but the strings no longer read that value once it has changed. They simply read gibberish at that point, and there are a few new strings that read the new value. This suggests that it changes every time.

Doing a scan for all value types does not return the value I am looking for in any case. Changed/Unchanged does not yield the value I need. This again suggests it could change every time or it could mean that the value is stored differently that what it is displayed as.
