Hi Hitler
Do you have some experience with anonymous webhosters?
So no personal who-is entry and payment-method should be either BTC or PSC. Also should have FTP access, latest PHP, MySQL databases, unlimited traffic with a good internet connection (at least 100 MBit). The hoster should offer multiple TLD and different server locations.
So far, I found mediaon quite interesting, but if anyone know other hosters and has some experience to share, this would be great.
Thank you.

although this message wasn't directed at me, i'll chip in
the personal who-is information is part of the domain name provider, who doesn't have to be your host
e. g i make use of enom.com for domainname stuff (it also provides privacy protect which at least blocks the noobs) and other hosters for hosting the site. I just set the host record to point to the apropriate ip's (can be a direct ip, or a hoster provided dns)

Yes I knew that. Just the most hoster immediatly register your domain at the specific domain name provider and often use your personal information to register the domain. Simple who-is query and everybody knows who you are and where you life and maybe also your phone number. Nasty feeling. At least in Germany where the DENIC is your domain name provider...

Do you want to tell me their domains to have a look at these hosters?
I guess you are using a hoster where you neither have to provide your personal information/banking information, aren't you?
Personally I hate providing these information.

I can wholeheartedly recommend JTAN. I've used them for a few projects and they offer full shell accounts. I believe they prohibit running IRC bots and such, but for nearly everything else they work great. Upon request they will register domains using their own information, instead of yours, and although I've not used BTC with them they do accept it. If you're not doing anything illegal, I believe you can trust them to protect your privacy. If you are doing something illegal or immoral, you should look elsewhere.

So you have to provide your personal data upon register/ordering?
AFAIK mediaon doesn't want to have any personal information except a valid email adress to create your account. You pre-pay them for their service which allows them to not store any personal data.

Sometimes you publish stuff that splits up the society. You usually get 3 groups A, B and C. A yells at C that they are idiots and C yells at A that they are idiots. Then there is B that says like "Uhmm A has some reasonable points I can understand but C also... so whatever".
The thing is, if you are going to support A or C you always have someone totally against your opinion. And you never know what someone is going to do to convince you from their opinion. Especially in the internet, where being someone anonymous can make you feel like a god.

Okay. Thanks for the information, but looks like I'm going to try mediaon.

I know they don't fall under your requirements but I would NEVER recommend using DigitalOcean for any hosting needs. Their support and staff are HORRIBLE. They offer no explanations to downtime as well as nothing if they decide to just pull the plug on your site. They offer 0 DDoS support and if your site even spikes in traffic 1 day, kiss it goodbye without notice, without reason and without a chance to get any of the data off their server before they shut you down entirely.
Overall they are a terrible company.

Never heard of'em before. Thanks for the info, anyway.
Actually, mediaon makes a solid impression. Quite expensive for webhosting (10$/month + 15$ domain/year) but thats worth full anonymity for me.

But then I only can access my website via the TOR network, can't I?
I didn't want to use a .onion domain.
